Vision:

Our vision in the Social Enterprise faculty is to provide a backbone of skills and understanding transferrable both to the real world and further academic excellence.

THROUGH OUR TRAVEL & TOURISM CURRICULUM WE INTEND TO:

  • To build and develop a curiosity and fascination about the world.

  • To build and develop a curiosity about people and cultures around the world. · To promote knowledge about diverse places, people, resources, and the natural and human environment.

  • To build on their knowledge of globes, maps and atlases and apply and develop this knowledge routinely in the classroom and in the field (organising itineraries).

  • To develop an understanding of the UK Travel and Tourism sector and its importance to the UK economy.

  • To develop knowledge about the industries, and key organisations, within the Travel and Tourism sector, their roles and interrelationships.

  • To develop investigative skills of areas of specific interest in relation to travel and tourism business development.

KEY STRENGTHS OF THE TRAVEL &  TOURISM CURRICULUM:

The Travel & Tourism curriculum at BBEC exceeds the National Curriculum because:

 

  • Students are provided with independent learning resources that can be accessed through Teams to develop their own knowledge on their own and to address any gaps that they may have. This enables them to develop their knowledge over time in a way that is most effective for their individual needs.

  • The curriculum provides the skills and knowledge to set students up to study Travel & Tourism at KS5 · Deliver engaging challenging lessons which have led to good results and a popular choice for options.

  • deliver excellent outcomes in terms of academic success, and progression in both the student’s coursework and examinations.
