BBEC has introduced a new careers programme and leadership structure for this Academic Year. This is led by Joe Ryan (Assistant Headteacher – Student Experience) and Rachael Arbuckle (Tutorial Programme Leader). This team has a fantastic wealth of experience, expertise and skills.

All Year 10 students will receive a core offer during this academic year of:

  • An open invitation to the BBEC Aspiration Event taking place during the Autumn term which will be attended by over 60 different employers, training and apprenticeship provides and educational organisations;

  • Period 3 (tutorial) programme, including frequent links to careers and aspirations;

  • Two dedicated Careers Weeks with a focus through Period 3 and the assembly. These take place in the Autumn and Spring terms.

  • Work Experience – with support to find placements with local employers.

In addition, there will be bespoke events, involving expert speakers from outside of school delivering additional careers information and guidance. During Science Week, in March 2024, there will also be the promotion of Careers linked to many areas of STEM and introducing some “awe and wonder”!

All of our careers provisions are mapped against the CDI Framework1 to ensure the highest quality of planning, outcomes and impacts for our students.

If you need any further information or represent a company or business who would like to engage with our Careers provisions then please do not hesitate to contact me,
