Music Instrumental lessons
We are delighted to offer a wide range of instrument lessons which are delivered by private peripatetic tutors, all of whom have a wealth of experience, are highly regarded within their chosen fields and are heavily subsidised by the school.

Currently we offer lessons via 2 options:

OPTION 1 - BBEC Instrumental lessons (Guitar, Bass & Drums)
The cost of lessons is £15 per term. Payment can be made (from September 2025) via ParentPay.
​
BBEC currently offer drum, bass and guitar. We are hoping to add piano, keyboard and vocal lessons ready for September 2025.

Students will learn a mix of modern and contemporary styles and will work towards pieces from the Rock School and Trinity syllabuses. Spaces for lessons are limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

​​​​​​​​​​​​​Students receive a 20-minute session per week. (as part of a group of three). The lessons take place during normal school time (8:35am-3:00pm) and the instrumental lesson operates on a rota which changes each week to avoid students missing the same lesson each week.
​
Once a student has been allocated a slot on the instrumental timetable it is important that they attend their lessons. The timetable will be displayed on the notice boards outside Y107/Y108. Students will also receive a sticker for their ARCK record which they can fill in to highlight their lessons for that term.
​
Any students taking part in instrumental lessons will be offered the opportunity to perform at our musical showcases throughout the year including our Summer Showcase and BDAT Be There concerts.

OPTION 2 - Bradford Music Service
We are also delighted to offer an expanded range of instrumental lessons in collaboration with the Bradford Music & Arts Service.
Students can sign up for a variety of instruments, including woodwind,strings, piano and brass. Lessons are provided directly by the Music Service, and pricing is set by them.

Clubs:
There are also a number of clubs which will run throughout the year. These include: samba club, band club and the school choir. More information about these clubs can be found on the extra curricular page.

How do I sign up for BBEC instrument lessons?
You can sign up to lessons by logging onto ParentPay and choosing the instrumental options.

How much are lessons?
The cost of lessons is £15 per term.
What instruments can I learn?
We offer a choice of instruments including: drums, guitar, bass. In some circumstances we can also offer woodwind and brass lessons.

How long will the lessons be?
The lessons will be 20 minutes long.
​
Where will the timetable be displayed?
The music timetable can be located on the noticeboard outside Y107/Y108.

Will the lessons be at the same time each week ?
No. We deliberately change the lesson time each week to avoid a student coming out of the same subject lesson.
​
What happens if I miss a lesson?
We have a large waiting list for lessons. It is important that you aim to attend all your lessons. We understand that sometimes this is not possible due to illness, absence, school events or important subject lessons. If a student consistently misses their lesson then their place maybe offered to another student.

Do I need any previous experience?
No previous experience is needed.
