In the summer of 2021, we launched the BBEC Alumni Network, with the aim of reconnecting with former students, celebrating their achievements, and enriching the educational experiences of our current students.

To date, more than 200 former students have registered with the BBEC Alumni Network, and we are already seeing the positive impact of their involvement across the school community. During Science Week in April, we were delighted to welcome three alumni back into school to share their experiences and inspire our students.

Bradley spoke to Year 7 students about his positive experiences studying for a degree in Physiotherapy at Bradford University. He discussed the opportunities he has had to travel and the success of the Physiotherapy Podcast, which he founded and continues to develop.

Mollie Nero spoke to Year 8 and Year 11 students about her achievements in science, including gaining a First-Class Master's Degree in Chemistry from the University of Huddersfield. She is now employed by Broughton Laboratories as a Research Chemist. Mollie was a fantastic ambassador for promoting women and girls in STEM subjects and careers.

Jake Rooney spoke to Year 10 students about the significant role that Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) has played in shaping his aspirations and future career plans. While studying A Levels at Greenhead College, Jake has dedicated his time to supporting the BBEC STEM Academy, helping the LEGO Robotics Team prepare for LEGO League competitions each week. This year, the team achieved a historic milestone by progressing beyond the regional heats and qualifying for the National Final in Harrogate for the first time. Jake is now looking forward to starting university, with aspirations to study Mathematics and Languages at either Oxford or Cambridge.

Our ambition is to continue growing the alumni network so that it can provide even greater support for school events, contribute to key school priorities, and further enrich the opportunities available to our students.

Anyone interested in joining the BBEC Alumni Network can register using the form above or contact Mr Ryan, Assistant Headteacher, for further information. joseph.ryan@BBEC.bdat-academies.org.
