Meet your Year Team

Mr Taylor

Head of  Year 7

Hello my name is Mr Taylor and I will be your Head of Year from September – I cannot wait to welcome you to our school.

I have been a Head of Year now for five years, having started at the same time as our current Year 11 students and supporting them all the way through their secondary school journey. This was a real privilege and I cannot wait to start the journey with you again soon – you have so much to look forward to!

As Head of Year I will work with your parents to ensure you feel happy and safe. I will encourage you to be successful students and I will celebrate your many achievements with you.

As well as being an Head of Year I also teach PE and so I hope I will have some of you in my classes in September.

In my own time I love sports but especially NFL and basketball. I also love music, as well as cooking (and eating!) delicious food.

Stay safe and I will see you all very soon.

Mrs Mellor

Assistant Head of  Year 7

Hello, my name is Mrs Mellor and I will be your Assistant Head of Year from September.  I cannot wait to meet you all and I am so excited for you to join us here at BBEC!

I have been a teacher for eight years and I am incredibly proud of all my students and their successes.  Now is your time to shine and I will be standing next to you every step of the way.

My main goal, as well as teaching you the best subject in school (RE), is to ensure that you feel happy, safe and supported. I want you to know that I am here to listen and will help in whatever way I can.

Part of my role in school is to check your attendance and make sure you are on time every day.  The link between excellent attendance and excellent results are well recognised and so I will be encouraging you to attend school on time every day – this will make me very happy!

I hope to see you very soon but until then, keep safe and stay positive.

Ms Honey

Pastoral Manager Year 7

Hello my name is Ms Honey and I will be your Pastoral Manager from September.

One of the things that makes us great is our work ethic; here at BBEC you will be part of a diverse and inclusive family who work together to be the best we can be. We are proud that you have chosen our school, to work to the best of your ability and be the best version of you.

I have kept studying throughout my time at BBEC (one of the reasons I love working here – there are so many people to help when I get stuck!) and I’m currently completing a degree in psychology.

I have worked at BBEC for 17 years. I first arrived as the school nurse then later moved into the Pastoral Team as I wanted to support students and families in a more focused role. I enjoy seeing you happy and engaged in your lessons and helping you overcome any challenges you may struggle with. I want you to feel happy, safe and supported in school and able to share any fears you may have.

Take care, stay safe and see you soon.
