Dear all

I hope you are having a relaxing holiday and so I’m sorry to interrupt your break.

You will have seen the latest government announcements and so just to highlight what I think it all means for BBEC (unless there are any further changes) here goes:

w/c Tuesday 5 January:

  • All staff should attend school as normal.
  • Vulnerable children and children of critical workers will be on site.  These will be organised in year group bubbles and will receive face to face teaching following our normal  timetable. (NB, this is not childcare as in the last lockdown).  Richard has timetabled 2 groups per year as a starting point.  ALs and PLs should organise the teaching groups as they see fit.
  • Remote education should be provided for exam year groups as a priority, this should follow the normal timetable and cover work that would normally be taught, and then to all other year groups.
  • Any scheduled vocational exams will go ahead as planned.  A decision about study plus sessions will be made at the start of the week.
  • This week is to “prepare to test as many staff and students as possible”.

w/c Monday 11 January:

  • All staff should attend school as normal.
  • Vulnerable children and children of critical workers will be on site.  These will be organised in year group bubbles and will receive face to face teaching following our normal  timetable. (NB, this is not childcare as in the last lockdown).  ALs and PLs should organise the teaching groups as they see fit.
  • “Secondary schools and colleges will start their programme of testing, prioritising staff, those students in school and the exam cohorts. Schools will be able to bring students back to face-to-face tuition as testing is rolled out”.
  • Remote education will be provided to all students prior to return to school.
  • Any scheduled vocational exams will go ahead as planned.

 w/c Monday 18 January:

  • All staff should attend school as normal.
  • All students should be on site

I am sure that you have a lot of questions and I do too.  There is more information due on Monday and I will let you know as soon as I know more.

Take care, Happy New Year, see you in 2021.

Enjoy the rest of your holiday

Ruth
