Careers Key Stage 3

Year 7

BBEC has introduced a new careers programme and leadership structure for this Academic Year. This is led by Joe Ryan (Assistant Headteacher – Student Experience), Rachael Arbuckle (Tutorial Programme Leader) and Lee Grant (Head of Careers). This team has a fantastic wealth of experience, expertise and skills.

All Year 7 students will receive a core offer during this academic year of:

  • Period 3 (tutorial) programme, including frequent links to careers and aspirations;
  • Three dedicated Careers Weeks with a focus through Period 3 and the assembly. These take place one in each term.

In addition, there will be bespoke events, involving expert speakers from outside of school delivering additional careers information and guidance. During Science Week, in March 2021, there will also be the promotion of Careers linked to many areas of STEM and introducing some “awe and wonder”!

Year 7 will also develop connections with careers through the University Passport Programme1 and the interlinked BBEC Academies programme.

All of our careers provisions are mapped against the CDI Framework2 to ensure the highest quality of planning, outcomes and impacts for our students.

If you need any further information or represent a company or business who would like to engage with our Careers provisions then please do not hesitate to contact me,
